Rip Gerber

Rip Gerber writes books and makes records.

His thrillers Pharma and Killervirus were published in Germany by Heyne, part of Penguin Random House in Munich. Killervirus was a bestseller there. His short fiction has appeared in First Thrills, the International Thriller Writers anthology edited by Lee Child. He is also the author of The Journeyman and Learning To Fly.

He is a singer-songwriter and recording artist and the founder of Secret Equations Records, an independent label he runs himself. He released his debut album, Old Piano, in 2026.

Before the music, he trained as a biochemical engineer and spent time at the Central Intelligence Agency. After Harvard Business School, he spent twenty years as a product and marketing executive in polymers, software, and artificial intelligence, starting and selling several private and public companies.

He lives in Tennessee and fishes in Montana when he can.
