Bob Doerr

Multi award-winning author Bob Doerr grew up in a military family, graduated from the Air Force Academy, and then had a twenty eight year career of his own in the Air Force. It was a lifestyle that had him moving every three or four years, but also one that exposed him to the people and cultures of numerous countries in Asia, Europe and to most of these United States. In the Air Force, Bob specialized in criminal investigations and counterintelligence, gaining significant insight to the worlds of crime, espionage and terrorism. His field of work brought him into close contact and coordination with the investigative and security agencies of many different countries and with the FBI and CIA. This background has helped Bob develop the fictional plots and characters in his books. In addition to his degree from the Academy, he also earned a Masters in International Relations from Creighton University. Bob is now a full-time author, with sixteen mystery/thrillers and four middle grade fantasy adventures already published. He has published a full-length YA fantasy on kindle vela. He has had three short stories published in anthologies and co-wrote a light-hearted mystery with three other authors. Bob has received a variety of accolades and awards. He is most proud of his selection in 2022 into Clovis High School's Hall of Honor for his writing. The Military Writers Society of America selected him as its Author of the Year in 2013. His book Cold Winter's Kill was a finalist for the 2010 Eric Hoffer Award, and in 2011 his book Loose Ends Kill was also selected as an Eric Hoffer finalist! Additionally, Loose Ends Kill was awarded the 2011 Silver medal for Fiction/mystery by the Military Writers Society of America. Another Colorado Kill won the same medal for 2012 and was also awarded the Silver for General Fiction in the 2012 Stars and Flags national book contest. No One Else to Kill was awarded First Runner up for Commercial Fiction in the 2013 Eric Hoffer Awards. Bob lives in Garden Ridge, Texas, with his wife of 50 years.
