Sharon Bruneel was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. She married Frank C. Bruneel and they became the parents of eight children. Sharon wrote her autobiography and assembled many books in her quest to document her and Frank's family histories. In 1997, she came into possession of 36 letters that Frank's grandfather, Camiel Bruneel, wrote about his life in Elverdinge, West Flanders, Belgium. The letters told about the destruction of his farm on the German front during the First World War and his immigration to the United States with his five children. Sensing this was a story that would appeal to history buffs and lovers of personal history alike, Sharon wrote Camiel's story, using the letters and her own research to create a compelling narrative of an early settler of Eagle, Idaho.
