Todd Hearon

Todd Hearon is the author of the novella, DO GEESE SEE GOD (Neutral Zones Press, 2021), and three books of poems: STRANGE LAND (Southern Illinois University Press, 2010), chosen by former United States Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey as winner of the Crab Orchard Poetry Series Open Competition; NO OTHER GODS (Salmon Poetry, 2015) and CROWS IN EDEN (Salmon Poetry, 2022). In 2021 he released his first solo album, BORDER RADIO. He has received a PEN/New England “Discovery” Award; the Friends of Literature Prize from Poetry magazine and the Poetry Foundation; the Rumi Prize in Poetry; the Campbell Corner Poetry Prize; and the Lyrics Award (First Place) from American Songwriter magazine. His poems, plays and essays have appeared in literary journals throughout the U.S. and abroad, including AGNI, Arts & Letters, Birmingham Poetry Review, Cincinnati Review, The Common, Harvard Review, Kenyon Review, Literary Imagination, Memorious, Ploughshares, Poetry, Poetry Ireland Review, Poetry London, Poetry Northwest, New Ohio Review, Salamander, Slate, Sleepers Almanac, Southern Review and Southwest Review. He served as Poet in Residence at Dartmouth College and The Frost Place and was the Dobie Paisano Creative Writing Fellow at the University of Texas, Austin. He teaches in Exeter, New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife, Maggie Dietz, and their twins.
