Claudia Cunningham has used her uniquely powerful combination of twelve-step principles and vampire lore to create a practical and fun way for readers to identify their own personal "vampires" (i.e. draining relationships they have with friends or relatives, employers or institutions, self-destructive beliefs or addictions) and how to decide for themselves what, if anything, they want to do about them.
Her "Ask the Slayer" column was a regular feature in Women's Online Magazine, and BITING BACK, her first book, was the 2011 Silver Medal winner of the "IPPY"- Independent Publisher Book Award, 2011, for Self-Help, and received The Coalition of Visionary Resorces Award, 2011, as 1st Runner Up in the catagory of Conscious Living/Self-Help. BITING BACK was also a finalist in FOREWORD Magazine Book of the Year Awards, 2010, and a nominee in for Pacific Northwest Booksellers Awards, 2010.
A native of Milwaukee, WI and transplant from hither and yon (New Haven, CT, Chatham, England, San Francisco, CA and Galena, AK), she is – in addition to being a writer – also an indescribably happy wife, mother, and survivor both alcoholism and breast cancer. Today she lives in Polson, MT with her handsome, every-day-more-amazing husband Robert, their magnificently intuitive and hilarious 15 year-old, Madeline Jane, and their barkingly adorable Cairn Terrier, Agatha.
Claudia has yet to tangle with a vampire that she hasn't, in the end, felt some affection for.
