Carl E. Linke

Carl Linke began writing after completing a full career in the army and spending another career in start-up companies. After traveling the globe, he settled in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The slower pace allows time for reflection and listening to the world around him. His writing is oriented on the South. Writing is enjoyable from his home office on a deep-water tidal creek overlooking the marsh. He takes time away from his work to be with family, to row with the Beaufort Rowing Club and the inevitable projects around the house Critters in the family – dog Joey, Fiasco the parrot, chickens and a horse – seem to get the most attention. He met his wife Penny “two score and seven years ago” on a blind dinner date arranged, on the sly, by the mother of his West Point roommate. He now lives five doors down from the doorway where they met…back on the Creek. They have two grown children - daughter and family in Charlotte, NC and a son and family outside of Asheville in Black Mountain, NC.
