Derrek Carriveau

Derrek was born in Royal Oak, MI on the day of the Watergate break-in. He was later cleared of any wrongdoing.

He relocated with his family to Port Orange, FL at the age of nine. At 18 he bravely moved across the state to attend the University of Tampa. For the next two years he referred to himself as being "bi-coastal."

If his life would have had any symmetry at all, he would have moved elsewhere at 27. Instead he stayed in Tampa (more or less) after earning an English degree, and eventually edited and wrote for two local publications.

The next big move would come at the age of 32 when he left for Wroclaw, Poland after being told that the beer is great and the women are beautiful. Yes, he is just that easy.

Derrek promised to stay for one year, and this has proven to be the absolute longest year of his life. He married a beautiful Polish woman in the summer of 2010. He teaches English at the Politechnika Wroclawska and performs stand-up comedy whenever possible.

Cover Stories: A Euphictional Anthology (Volume 1), is his first work available on Amazon.com.
