Max Oliver

Max Oliver was born in Vernon, TX, near a place called "Eagle Flats" by the Comanche Indians, a favorite camping ground of Peta Nokoni, who was Quanah Parker's father. He moved from "boom" town to "boom" town in the early day oilfields. The places he lived were in the heart of "Comancheria" which was the domain of the Comanche Indians. His grandmother was Comanche and the books he has written compile many "word of mouth" incidents and these coupled with what he learned from Comanche friends and studying "The People" resulted in the writing of "Saga of a Comanche Warrior".

Max has written three other books about Comanche characters, as yet unpublished entitled, "Waoo", "Six Feathers" and "Bronc."

A writing titled "Bitter roots" is being completed. It is a story relating a personal experience while sheep herding with an Apache Indian in Idaho.

Recently published "Next Boom" is about the early days of the "oil patch" from the working man's point of view and the family life of the vagabonds who moved from boom town to boom town.

Also recently published is a book of poetry "Cries of the Heart" concerning life's problems and many of the situations that we all face daily.

Published in November 2012, "College Degree Not Required" catalogs the author's philosophy on life and the situation the world is in today.This work attempts to show the way man thinks to the way the Bible teaches. After traveling many roads of denomination teachings, the author studied for himself.

Max has written books on religious philosophy, a book of anthologies about personal experiences, and books relating to Western events in fictional form for instance "no Woman's Land tells of Bell Star's operations in No Man's Land in Oklahoma, and Texas from the Red River to the Rio Grande.

Max attend Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State Univ) and Central State University in Oklahoma. He continues to research and write about the Comanche.
