Frances Schaffer

Fran Schaffer opened Nonna’s Palazzo in July 1983 with the help of her mother, Nida Cappozzo Calhoun. The restaurant was named in honor of Fran’s grandmother, Chiara Brazzale (“Nonna”), and many of Nonna’s recipes were used in the restauraunt, bringing a special gourmet touch to classic Italian foods. Fran and her husband, Dave, who illustrated this book, live in the historic Hamilton-Donald home.
