Gary Brumback

Gary Brumback received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1958 and his PhD in organizational psychology from The Ohio State University in 1963. His doctoral dissertation was on the subject of personal and organizational values.

Dr. Brumback had a long and varied career involving the retail industry, the insurance industry, the manufacturing industry, university teaching, the not-for-profit research sector and the U.S. government He retired in 1995.

He was elected a Fellow of both The American Psychological Association and The Association for Psychological Science in recognition of his outstanding and distinguished contributions to psychology. He is also a member of the academic honorary, Phi Beta Kappa, the research honorary, Sigma Xi, and The Marqui's Who's Who Publication Board.

He is a prolific writer. He has authored 13 books. His newest book, "KABOOM!" Wolves in Suits Leading Humanity to Doomsday and How to Stop the Doomsday Clock and End War and Human Misery, is in press.

He has authored over 50 book reviews, over 100 articles in professional journals, and many technical reports covering a broad range of topics. He has given many talks at professional meetings in the U.S. and abroad. His invited addresses on serious matters have always added a touch of humor. He dressed as “Capt. No No,” for example, in his talk on an oxymoron, “government ethics.” He dressed as “Capt. Appraisal” to give an invited address on a subject people love to hate.

Since retiring he has gone beyond his own field to delve into anthropology, economics, history, humanism, moral philosophy, political science, public affairs, sociology and theology. He extensively researched all these subjects to help him write many of his books.

He has been married since 1958 and has two daughters and two grandsons.
