D. E. Tingle

D.E. Tingle was born in Iowa City in 1938. He graduated from Harvard College in 1959, married and worked for eleven years in the early U.S. space program with the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in Peru, Argentina, Spain and Cambridge, Massachusetts, before renewed bachelorhood and self-employment as an automobile mechanic. He arrived at fiction writing late in life, having spent the earlier years engaged in actual human intercourse and accumulating the stores of chagrin that now provide the inspiration for his work. He has two children and four grandchildren.

With the advent of the worldwide persecution of WikiLeaks and Julian Assange, Tingle is boycotting all organizations that have succumbed to institutional pressure or otherwise chosen to cooperate with establishmentarian efforts to disable WikiLeaks. These organizations include Amazon.com, which, on December 1, 2010, claiming violation of terms of service, removed WikiLeaks from its servers. Accordingly, Tingle urges anyone buying any of his books to order from some other source than Amazon. As a further test of Amazon's tolerance of free speech, a value you'd expect to be practically limitless in a bookseller, Tingle will leave his connections with Amazon intact pending any decision by Amazon to end them.
