Dean Conrad is an English writer and producer. He was first published in 1996 with a book on 'Star Wars', which made some contribution to his 1998 PhD thesis on the representation of women in science fiction film. Since then, Dean has lectured, published and presented on many aspects of the performing arts, including guest-editing two issues of the Texas A&M University journal 'Post Script', exploring cinema exhibition and distribution. His Sky Arts television documentary on the British poet Philip Larkin was broadcast in November 2017 and his new book, 'Space Sirens, Scientists and Princesses' – a history of female roles through 120 years of science fiction cinema, was published in June 2018. He is now working with American and British production companies on projects for large and small screens.
