Jeffrey L. Helms

Dr. Helms is Professor of Psychology at Kennesaw State University. Prior academic appointments include teaching not only at the undergraduate level but also at the master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels. His research interests are predominantly in the areas of the scholarship of teaching and attitudes toward individuals who identify as bisexual. Currently, he holds licensure as a psychologist in Georgia and Hawaii and has been granted an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology by the PSYPACT Commission. Dr. Helms maintains a private clinical and consulting practice where he works predominantly with undergraduate and graduate students, people who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ communities, and other health care professionals. Earlier in his career, he worked in community mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and forensic environments.
