After 40 years as a clinical psychologist, I have retired to write, tend my garden and spend time with friends and family. I live in Nelson, New Zealand where I'm surrounded by green hills, distant mountains and the sea. My adult children live in Melbourne and Wellington and I have two grandsons. In my late 50s I learned to swim and this has been a challenge and a joy to me, great for fitness and a way of making new friends.

Reading is a staple in my life and has been since I first learned the magic behind the marks on the page. I read modern fiction as well as history, science and biography. Books are an amazing opportunity to step into someone else's life and thoughts.
