Tony Whyton

I am Professor of Jazz Studies at BCU Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK. As a cultural musicologist, my work focuses predominantly on jazz, ranging from reworkings of history and the legacy of iconic musicians to studies of specific scenes.

From 2010, I have worked as the Project Leader for a leading European Arts & Humanities research project entitled Rhythm Changes: Jazz Cultures and European Identities (www.rhythmchanges.net).
