Hal Brands

Hal Brands is the Henry A. Kissinger Distinguished Professor of Global Affairs at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, a Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, and a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion. He has written many books, most recently The Landscape of Power: Geography and the Rise and Fall of Nations (2027) and The Eurasian Century: Hot Wars, Cold Wars, and the Making of the Modern World (2025).
