A note from ISACA - "Congratulations! You have been selected as the recipients of the Michael Cangemi Best Article/Book Award for 2011 for your book SharePointŪ Deployment and Governance Using COBITŪ 4.1: A Practical Approach. Your nomination has been approved by International President Emil D’Angelo and by the ISACA/ITGI Board of Directors/Trustees".
As a result of my experience, I have acquired a unique set of skills and abilities. I have been on the "outside" as a consultant and confidant to Presidents, CIO's and IT directors, and I have been on the "inside" as the Director of IT services. These disparate conditions have given me an insight into managing IT systems from "both sides of the fence" that few of my colleagues possess. I am comfortable in the role of IT policy adviser to senior management, while retaining an empathetic perspective towards employees in the throes of maintaining infrastructure.
I have excellent written and verbal language skills and extensive experience working as a team player. Although my college major was Information Technology, I studied Anthropology and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Math, Physics and Music. I have always been empathetic to the human condition.
As a result, I feel I have unique insights into working with others as a consummate team player to achieve common goals. I also speak and write Spanish nearly fluently, and have worked in foreign countries.
