Clydene Overbey

My name is Clydene Overbey. I grew up in a smal rural town in mid Arkansas in the early 50's. Daddy worked in a coal mine in Oklahoma and was gone through the week coming home each Friday night. We were what you would call dirt poor and lived on foods grown and procedded by Mamma and Daddy.

I had one Brother and we had a happy childhood on a dead end road by the RR tracks never knowing we were poor because we were rich in love.

I live only 10 miles from the home place. Still in a rural area. My books are all about my life growing up.

I'm 68 years old and I've always loved to write. I write for our local paper at this time and really enjoying it. I write humor as well as more serious subjects. I am truthful in my writing, no fiction. I had a colorful Childhood back in the time when no one locked their doors and it was safe for me to walk the roads with no fear of any harm. It was a more peaceful time and while I love some of the modern conveniences I have now I still miss that time and often become homesick. Y'all Come with me through my books to the awesome 50's and 60's. I guarantee you a good time.
