Zain Abdullah

Zain Abdullah is a scholar, public speaker, and consultant on Islam and Muslims, religion and society, the African Diaspora, global diversity, and intergroup relations. He is interested in writings of all sorts including memoirs, creative nonfiction, historical novels, and essays. Abdullah is an anthropologist and associate professor in the Religion Department at Temple University, where he is also a faculty affiliate in the Department of Geography & Urban Studies. Abdullah's work has earned him numerous awards, including a recent Ford Foundation Fellowship to write a new book on Black Muslim conversion and the Nation of Islam.
