Noah Bond

Noah Bond thinks he may be a scribe. The ideas for his stories come to him unbidden, out of the blue. Then he opens a word processing file for that idea, adding to it from time to time, but never making an outline. Later, he revisits the file and begins to type --- not knowing what will come next. This doesn't always produce a coherent story; but when it does, it's as surprising to the author as to the reader. That is why credit is always given to "He who made this book possible."

He began writing in high school, mostly comic poems and short stories. Later, there would be songs, which he sang to the accompaniment of his guitar.

By then Noah Bond was practicing law in Fort Lauderdale, the scam capital of America and home of the cocaine cowboys --- in other words, a colorful place. He also managed a boutique hotel, served as a Director of the humane society and visited archaeological sites in the American West, Egypt, Mexico, Panama, Italy and England.

In 1999, his suspense novel, NOMAD/Y The Moon Base Project, was published. It described the discovery of a secret base on the Moon established during the Apollo Program and the events it set in motion. Despite two very different screen plays, the motion picture has yet to be made. ("Hollywood is the only place where you can die of encouragement" --- Pauline Kael.)

In 2005, The Doorstep of Depravity was published. Grace O'Higgins is a solo attorney in Syracuse, New York. Her seemingly innocent client trying to claim her inheritance is in fact a psychopath, who unleashes a lethal virus against her enemies (and some innocent bystanders). It's a tale of lawyers, heirs, greed, deceit, lust and death. Something for everyone. People die. Money disappears. Then the unthinkable happens. There is a screenplay of this novel entitled A Monster Client.

In 2010, his historical novel, The Lost Testimony of Bones LeBeau, was published. This tells the story of the planning and implementation of the plot to assassinate President Kennedy, as overheard by a waitress for one of the plotters. The waitress is a fictional character created to bridge the gaps between the various real conspirators, who were not always together. Although technically a novel, this is the first book to provide a clear description of the plot, as well as revealing the actual motive. And why Bobby Kennedy was doomed from the minute he became the Democrat candidate. The premise of this novel, that New Orleans crime boss Carlos Marcello was the main force behind these assassinations, was considered to be fiction by the public at the time of publication. But before he died, he actually bragged to several people about killing JFK. Yet the official story is that Oswald acted alone, but may have had some breaks along the way. (So how did Oswald manage to change the parade route the day before the shooting?) An FBI agent suggested that I abandon this project, citing that a number of people investigating the assassination have been questioned, harassed and even killed. It was a cordial exchange over drinks at the Blue Martini. (He even paid the tab! Your tax dollars at work?) That is one compelling reason this book was written as a novel. There is a screenplay of this novel.

In late 2011, All the Targets --- a novel of international intrigue --- was published. After a nuclear attack on the United States, the new President embarks on a risky journey to eliminate the root cause of terrorism. Enter the amateur terrorist in East Jerusalem who quickly finds himself in over his head. Kidnappings, hijacking, arson and a rogue CIA agent keep the White House racing to keep up with events. And a sexy rock 'n roller goes after the dictator of North Korea. There is a screenplay of this novel entitled Banquet of Consequences.

In December, 2014, Nekkid Lake was released. It's a Gothic mystery about the disappearance of most of the senior class of Cobbler's Knob while celebrating their graduation after the senior prom. None of the forensic evidence makes sense. The only survivor has no memory of the event. Something big and vital is missing. Enter Tess, the determined college intern to the two-man sheriff's department, who is assigned the cold case to keep her busy. But the strange forces that caused the original tragedy are gathering again. Will Tess discover the cause in time to prevent another massacre? This novel was a Finalist for the Foreword Review Indiefab Book of the Year 2014. A screenplay of this novel is planned.

In the summer of 2015, The Devil's Astronaut was published. A university professor working on his doctorate discovers discrepancies in the archives of the Apollo Program. Before long, he becomes convinced that there has been a tragic mistake and cover-up. His pursuit of this mystery spins out of his control, to the Russian Space Agency, the White House and the Moon --- endangering his fiancee and, eventually, all of mankind. It's science fiction for grown-ups, set in the present. Fans of Star Trek and Star Wars will not appreciate this novel. No light sabres or phasers. No "Beam me up. Scotty." This novel was a Finalist for the Foreword Review Indiefab Book of the Year 2015. There is a screenplay of this novel.

During late 2022, two new novels were published. His Majesty's Posse is about a man known only as Six, who is employed by a secret government organization to disappear persons deemed to be enemies of the United Kingdom. After dispatching such a target, Six finds that he was also a target. Looking into the organization with his minder Fiona, he uncovers the leadership of the organization. Six finds himself at the center of a murderous attack on the organization. Few will be able to predict the surprising, but logical, conclusion.

The second novel published then was Holler Gals - Backwoods to Hollywood, a departure from the suspense theme. In this story, a trio of young wives deep in rural West Virginia develop a radical plan to keep their husbands away from the local Tavern (yes, that's the full name) in particular and loose women in general. All is going well until the Tavern goes topless. When the radical component of their plan is activated, the consequences are spectacular. No foul language or explicit sex, but not for the prudish.

Note that most of the screenplays appear on The Black List, a website showcasing screenplays not yet green-lighted for production.

In November, 2013, the album Fine as Frog Hair was released, featuring 14 songs written by Noah, and 5 others for which he wrote only the lyrics.
