John Phillip Backus

John Phillip Backus was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan to parents who were avid readers. He was encouraged from a young age to discover the joys of adventure fiction, reading both the classics and pulp titles by the masters of their genres.

As a young man, John explored the wilds of the Pacific Northwest, traveling extensively throughout the western United States. He mined for gold, held jobs as a lumberjack, carpenter, boatbuilder, and served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division.

John currently spends his time traveling, researching, and writing the next volume in his popular post apocalyptic series, After The Fall, and soon-to-be released science fiction saga, The Dorian Chronicles.
