I am a senior ALM Consultant with Northwest Cadence (www.nwcadence.com) specializing in software development lifecycle management and process improvement with a focus on Team Foundation Server. I have taught classes at San Diego State University Extensions, University of Washington Extensions and Bellevue Community College Extended Studies in programming and database development.
I love speaking at events and have been recently speaking at VSLive!, Dev Connections and Tech Ed where I am scheduled to present again in 2011. Speaking and training developers, testers, project managers, business analysts and others in good, solid practices for software development is a passion of mine.
In 2003 I got tired of books purporting to tell developers how to accomplish this and that but without actually walking them through a working example and explaining the logic. I got lucky and knew someone who had written a book and she put me in touch with her editor. The editor liked my outline and agreed to the book deal. That was my first book and writing is a bug. It's a chance to get your knowledge out to everyone who is interested and if I think I can help, I will keep writing. While hard, the end result is immensely satisfying and even better if the books help make development teams lives easier.
My masters is in Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. I am an MSCD, MCAD, MCDBA, MCT, SCJP, Security+ and ITIL certified consultant.
