Kim Martin

KIM MARTIN and MYKEL HAWKE are the co-authors of The Jake Tyler thriller series

KIM has spent years researching and writing, while logging time on location. Born in the South and growing up primarily in New York, New Jersey, and Nashville, Tennessee, she lived briefly in London, where she pursued her first fiction book. As the daughter of a Navy man, her interest in writing military-themed thrillers was seeded early, though, and ultimately led to the collaboration with Hawke in the Jake Tyler series. While researching IN THE DARK OF THE SUN, she spent time with a Special Forces contingent in the Amazon on a dilapidated riverboat and trekking through the jungle. In addition to writing, she is also an accomplished photographer, graphic and web designer.

With over 20 years of military experience, HAWKE has made a career of doing the unthinkable, from fighting rebels and training UN peacekeepers in war-torn Africa to running a war clinic on the front lines and establishing a combat medic school in Azerbaijan, to doing combat search and rescue during the height of Colombia's drug war. A US Army Special Forces vet, Hawke is also renown survival expert with numerous bestselling survival books and is the creator and star of many popular TV shows, including The Discovery Channel's Man, Woman, Wild and One Man Army, as well as the Travel Channel's Lost Survivors and The Outdoor Channel's Elite Tactical Unit.

Kim and Mykel's third Jake Tyler thriller is in development.
