Chris Wright Ph.D.

I'm Chris Wright, author of Dr. Wright's Kitchen Table Math Books 1, 2, and 3. The books actually started about 20 years ago in the form of four pages of notes I wrote for my brother, full of advice on how to teach his children math, based on my experiences so far at that point as a new father and as a mathematician.

Math has always been a passion of mine, and I received my Ph.D. in mathematics from Stanford University in 1980. Afterwards I worked as an Assistant Professor at Duke University for a few years before moving to the field of software. However, fifteen years ago I moved back to doing what I love most - math. These books are a compilation of everything I've learned through my experiences as a parent teaching my own children, and home schooling for two years, as well as my experiences as a tutor for children of all ages and more recently a middle- and high-school teacher.

Through these books I hope to pass on what I've learned through my many years teaching children math and hopefully teaching them to enjoy it as well. These books are intended to help other parents out there do the same for their own children.
