John E. McKinley

John McKinley teaches systematic theology at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, in La Mirada, California. His first book, "Tempted for Us," is a thorough revision of his doctoral dissertation completed in 2005. The topic of Jesus' temptation connects the doctrines of Christology and sanctification with Jesus as the model and ready support for sanctification in a Christian's experience. One unusual element in the book is the use of narrative vignettes for each of the models describing Jesus' impeccability and temptation. The conclusion to the book also proceeds by three narrative vignettes. These have explanatory power and carry the theological concepts into practical vision.
