My artwork tells stories that are personal as well as those that speak of relationship, humanity and connection. I choose an untraditional palette of fabric and stitch because I believe they connect us and draw us closer in a way that cannot be achieved with traditional art materials alone. I use a variety of techniques drawing from the deep traditions of quilting, the spontaneity of mixed media collage, and the lusciousness of dye and paint to tell and support each unique story.

I am the creator of the Stitch Meditation Process. This process brings together mindfulness and creative experience in a daily practice that reduces stress, relaxes the body and engages the right brain.

I am passionate about teaching and am co-author of two books; Fabric Embellishing: the Basics and Beyond and Threads: the Basics and Beyond.

I am also solo author of First Time Beading on Fabric and Know your Needles. I have articles published in multiple magazines including Quilter’s Home, Quilting Arts, Quilting Arts In Stitches and Cloth Paper Scissors Studios. I have appeared in the PBS show Quilting Arts TV.
