Michael Ayoob

Michael Ayoob’s debut novel, In Search of Mercy, won the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA) Best First Private Eye Novel Competition in 2009 and was published by St. Martin’s Press the following year. It went on to win the PWA Shamus Award for Best First Novel of 2010.

Mercy is a noir novel that borders on horror. Michael’s second book, Shadow Menagerie, dives headlong into the genre with a tale featuring ghosts and monsters. His upcoming book, Mortispectra, further explores his favorite themes: physical and moral decay, the past haunting the present, characters driven mad by their obsessions.

Michael currently lives in Pittsburgh with his wife, son, and black cat Maggie.
