Cy Dethan

Cy Dethan is a British indie writer who first shouldered his way into the field of comics in 2006 with the serialisation of his Starship Troopers: Extinction Protocol strip from Mongoose Publishing.

Since then he has written graphic novels on-going comics series, games and now his first novel, Bad Sector, an existential sci-fi thriller about law, justice and identity. Published by CyNic Stories in 2025 it is the first book in the Expectation trilogy.

Cy's creator-owned graphic novels include Cancertown, The Indifference Engine, Slaughterman's Creed and White Knuckle for Markosia Publishing.

His current comics series are Powers Fearful and Divine (Blue Fox Comics), Phantom Lung and the Garden of Dead Liars (Markosia) and The Kindness of Killers (Markosia).

His short stories can be read in many anthology publications, including the cyberpunk Metal Made Flesh series by Subversive Comics, Torsobear:Yarns From Toyburg by Source Point Press,Time Bomb Comics' Bomb Scares and The British Comics Showcase.

He is a key contributor to the world of Unseen Shadows, brainchild of bestselling Amazon author and podcaster Barry Nugent, where his contributions include The Reverend: Wrath of God, The Immaculate Abortion of Dina Leigh fand The Reverend: Blood Cries Out, the project's first full-length graphic novel.
