Laura Hesse

"My life has been a marvelous adventure and a bit on the wild side... pun intended. I worked as a forest firefighter in northern Alberta for several years and a timber cruiser in northern Ontario. I was privileged enough to experience ball lightning rolling through the tree tops, misty mornings on remote lakes untouched by human hand, a friendly skunk who would show up every morning for eggs and bacon, and so much more. When an outhouse became a luxury item and my knees started to creak in the morning, I decided it was time to move on." Laura Hesse.

Laura grew up a back stage brat in Music Hall Theater. She learned early in life that while she was a pretty good singer, she was a lousy tap dancer. She credits her mother with her love of song, dance, & stage comedies, turning her obsession for the arts into a writing career with character driven funny cozy mysteries and horse stories with lovable villains and heroines thrust into difficult circumstances, but real life is like that, isn't it?

Now Laura lives on Vancouver Island with two old cats and an insane rescue dog.
