William B. (Bill) Boehm grew up in Alamogordo, N.M., gaining an appreciation for the history desert Southwest, frequented by likes of Billy the Kid, Pat Garrett, Albert B. Fall, John J. Pershing and “Pancho” Villa.
Boehm received an M.A. in History from New Mexico State University in 1997. His Master’s Thesis detailed the impact of the El Paso railroads during the Mexican Revolution from 1910 to 1916. His research interests focused on transportation, community studies, and the U.S. military’s presence in southern New Mexico and west Texas.
He has worked on various projects with military and cultural institutions in southern New Mexico as an archivist and historian. He started work with the National Guard in Arlington, Va. in 2006, where he works currently contributing numerous articles on Guard history and various publications. History is always alive, and I am fortunate to work in the field.
