Susan Lindheim

Susan Lindheim is a writer living in Los Angeles. She won the UCLA Writing Program’s Kirkwood Prize in 2007 for an excerpt from her novel-in-progress, Baby Driver. Her short story, “Travels With Gonzalo” was published in the South Dakota Review in 2003 and was performed as part of the New Short Fiction Series in Los Angeles in 2009. Lindheim also adapted "Travels With Gonzalo" into a screenplay which was a quarterfinalist in the 2006 Nicholl Fellowship Competition.

Lindheim speaks Spanish, French and some very rusty Russian. Her diverse professional experience includes: communications specialist for a Los Angeles based non-profit organization; business development for international media companies; technical writing and instructional design for high tech companies; literacy instructor for an after school program targeting at-risk youth; program officer for a non-profit engaged in work in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union; privatization consultant to the Polish and Uzbek governments; and Fulbright-sponsored English language instructor at a high school in France. Lindheim has traveled to 38 countries, including several which no longer exist.
