A. J. Gillard grew up in a very remote and rugged area in Northern Newfoundland, Canada. When not coping with the elements, reading and writing were her pastime. Although she considers herself a romance writer, she has ventured outside of the romance genre and has written children's books, poetry books, cookbooks and a short story collection.
Several of her romance novels are set in Maine which is only hours from her home in Montreal, Quebec, but it has the ruggedness and beauty of Newfoundland that she misses. So, Newfoundland, Montreal, and Maine give her the settings. The ideas - with a wild imagination, they are everywhere.
