I write about health and medicine for a range of publications and blog about public health on MedFly (med-fly.blogspot.com), which is part of the BlogHer Publishing Network. Before I began freelancing in 2003, I wrote patient education materials for a medical publishing company. I won several National Health Information Awards for my work there.

Many of the issues that we explain in The Complete Idiot's Guide to Vaccinations I have also discussed with fellow parents and with my children's pediatrician. I hope that the book shines some light on this complex and often confusing topic.
