Claudia Geist is a coauthor of COUNTED OUT: Same-Sex Relations and Americans' Definitions of Family (Russell Sage Foundation, September, 2010), together with Brian Powell, Catherine Bolzendahl, and Lala Carr Steelman.

Claudia Geist is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Utah. She studies inequality in the areas of family and gender, often with a cross-national perspective.
