Patrick Sherratt works as an independent educational provider in secondary schools across the Asia Pacific region offering students, staff and parents a synthesis of meta-cognitive knowledge (learning how to learn), and performance psychology.
Having come from a New Zealand farming background where academic achievement was not a high expectation, Patrick did not pursue academic goals until his late 20s when he begain a psychology degree through Massey University.
His interest in learning was transformed and throughout his degree he received many A grades. In 2000, Patrick won an academic award for excellence.
After completing his undergrad degree in psychology in 2001, Patrick began teaching students communication and study skills at a local tertiary institution while completing his masters degree in education.
In 2008, Patrick and a colleague, Ian Richards, started their own independent consultancy business under the international training organistion, The Pacific Institute (TPI). In 2010 they took a sideways step from the TPI 'umbrella' to create a new company, Innervate. www.innervate.co.nz
As an author, Patrick’s first book, 'Smart Students Study Less: Time-saving Techniques for Learning and Studying for Exams' was self-published in 2001 and eventually became the text for the best-selling, 'Exam Excellence', published by User Friendly Resources in New Zealand.
