Ron Strong

Author Ron Strong always had an interest in aircraft. As a child growing up in Burbank, California, his father worked for different airlines and would take the family to airports and air shows in the region.

Strong has served in the Air Force and also worked in Flight Test at the Alameda Naval Air Station.

Strong was contributing editor for Pacific Flyer Aviation Newspapers from 1988 until 2002. He met Nick Veronico in the 1980's, while both were writing for Pacific Flyer. Strong has worked for NASA for many years, most recently on the SOFIA program. Many of his photographs may be seen on the Internet, including NASA's own website and NationalGeographic.com in addition to many other aviation websites.

He has more than 40 years experience in aviation photography.
