Tanja Stern

Tanja Stern, born in 1952 in East Berlin, graduated in theatre studies, worked as an editor, book-seller, secretary etc. Her literary debut was in 1985 with The Trilogy of Losers. She lives in Wildau near Berlin, writes novels, children's books, essays and film scripts.

In her novel trilogy, Opera Murder – three Verdi operas in prose narration, she recounts the absurd plots of three well-known Verdi operas (The Troubadour, A Masked Ball, and Rigoletto) in the exalted language of the 18th century. The first part of the trilogy, The Troubadour, is available in English, the other parts will follow soon.
