Peter Amann has been travelling to the tip of the Italian boot for over a quarter of a century and spends a lot of time in his ‘second-born country’ (loosely based on Ingeborg Bachmann) with unwavering curiosity. He has turned his passion into a profession. Tour guiding, photography and researching travel guides are wonderful ‘excuses’ for him to roam through his favourite South. His travel guides are published by Baedeker, Michael Müller, Reise Know-How, Rotpunkt and Sunflower Books, among others. He has twice been awarded the Premio-ENIT for ‘Best Italian Travel Guide in German Language’ at the Frankfurt Book Fair, in 2005 for ‘Liparische Inseln’ (Iwanowski's) and in 2011 for ‘Golf von Neapel –Kampanien, Cilento’ (Reise Know-How).
