Stefan Back

Stefan Back, a native of Stuttgart, studied Business Administration at the University of Stuttgart. After completing his studies, he worked for over 30 years in management positions in various industries, most recently as managing director of a medium-sized pharmaceutical company. One of specialties was HR Management and the support of application processes. The author therefore has an enormous knowledge in this area, which he would like to pass on one his book. It deals with the central question of how applicants can reach and win over decision-makers and thus leave their application frustration behind them.

For several years now, Back has been focusing more on socio-political issues, and in July 2026, he published his major social report "Das Erbe der Wohlstandskinder" on this topic. A short version is planned by the end of the year.

However, Stefan Back's career as an author began many years earlier, when he discovered his personal way out of nicotine addiction in 1999. His latest book on quitting smoking specifically addresses smokers who have relapsed one or more times. The author sees personal responsibility as the central factor here. Accordingly, you don't need a method to stop smoking. On the contrary, the more methods you use, the more dependent you become. This is why the majority of people fail when they trying to quit smoking. Stefan Back is now recognized as an expert in smoking cessation. Many providers of non-smoking seminars use parts of his ideas.
