Markus Raupach

Markus Raupach founded a media agency in Bamberg in 1998. Since 2005, he has published over 60 books and games, including the chronicle of the German Brewers' Association on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. In 2013, he founded the Deutsche BierAkademie, for which he was awarded the “Golden Beer Idea 2015.” In 2019, he received this award again, this time for the realization of his idea of a “Walk of Beer” in Forchheim. In 2023, he was accepted as an honorary knight into the Brotherhood of Belgian Brewers. In 2025, he founded the German Beer Academy for the training of International Beer Sommeliers.

Markus Raupach is a beer, brandy, and cheese sommelier, an experienced judge (including European Beer Star, World Beer Cup, Brussels Beer Challenge), a member of the British and North American Guild of Beer Writers, a recipient of the Bamberg Beer Order, a board member of Bierland Oberfranken, chairman of the Association of Bavarian Brandy Sommeliers, and founding president of the German Beer Consumers Union (GBCU). Since 2018, Markus Raupach has also been a lecturer at the Genussakademie Bayern.
