Patrick Becker

Patrick Becker (born 1976) is Professor of Fundamental Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Erfurt. From 2004 to 2008 he was a lecturer for the subjects Fundamental Theology and Philosophy of Religion at the University of Marburg, and from 2009 to 2010 he was the managing director of the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Canonical Study Programs (AKAST). From 2010 to 2017, he was lecturer and from 2017 to 2021, interims professor for systematic theology at RWTH Aachen University. Travels to more or less distant countries represent the most important preference. Current scholarly foci are the dialogue between the natural sciences and theology, the challenge of postmodernity, and concepts of the afterlife in modern societies.
