Lena Hesse

Lena Hesse has been writing and illustrating books for children for more than 10 years.

She always loved to draw, but first dedicaded herself to other design fields and studied Graphic Design and Photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Münster, (Germany).

In 2008, she moved to spain for two years and exchanged the camera for a pen. She then experimented a lot with hand-drawn typography, calligraphy and collage tecniques.

At that time she published "Fred and Anabel", her first picture book.

Nowadays Lena Hesse is working as a freelance illustrator for several publishing houses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

She is based in Berlin.
