Lancer Kind is an American science fiction author who has lived in many different places: the cowboy country of Montana where wild deer are more numerous than people, among the tall mountain peaks of Colorado (and skied down a mountain 4,800 meters tall), and the island of Xiamen China (palm trees, beaches, and chopsticks).
He's a 2003 graduate of the Clarion writers' workshop (which admits 20 of the best new writers each year) and a 2006 graduate of the equally exclusive Odyssey writers' workshop. He's an active member of the science fiction community and has spoken and participated at NorwesCon (Seattle, USA), CascadiaCon (Seattle, USA), Foolscap (Seattle, USA), ReaderCon (Boston, Massachusetts), and two World SF Conventions (Nippon2007, Denvention2008).
When Lancer is not writing, he's studying Mandarin and podcasting at SciFi Thoughts (the URL is SciFi Thoughts dot Space).
