As a child I loved writing creatively and recall my first story I wrote being 126 pages long called 'Danger on the Island of Horror'. I also created comic books with my big brother Gary and one of those comic strips 'The Packet Family' I made into a story. Of course neither of those stories made it into print and I left school and took up work in various customer-facing roles.

Into my twenties I did still write for my own recreation keeping detailed notes (in all it was a book in itself) on the football team I supported - Coventry City. I was also a great fan of The Grand National and have details written on every Grand National from 1983 to 2008 with details of every runner, rider, where they finished or failed to and lots more and still have these notes. Again neither of those I attempted to get into print.

It was as I reached middle age and began running The Original On The Buses Forum in 2006 that got me interested in writing a book about On The Buses - my favourite sitcom. There were, incredibly, no books about the great British sitcom and so set about setting that straight in 2008, with encouragement and useful tips from author Kevin Snelgrove I set about writing my first book On The Buses: The Complete Story which was published by Apex Publishing Limited and launched at The London Transport Museum, Covent Garden on the 3rd of October 2009 with great support in attendance in the form of the late Ronnie Wolfe, Rose Wolfe, the late Hal Dyer, Cheryl Hall, Avril Gaynor, Olivia Breeze and Patricia Clapton.

Apex Publishing Limited were also behind my second publication in May 2012 as The On The Buses Quiz Book was released as an E-book. It contains 1,000 questions about the hit sitcom and was written at a time when I was also writing my third book.

This third book was to be called An A-Z of On the Buses which was to be published by Mirador Publishing - a book that covers On the Buses in fine detail covering various aspects of the series and films. It includes detailed entries on the actors, actresses, characters, the buses used and much more.

In May 2016 came my fourth book self-published under my own publishing company Caledonian Books in partnership with WritersWorld called On the Buses - The Filming Locations. It covers in comprehensive details the filming locations used in On the Buses on television and films. Covering over 200 locations with Then and Now photographs and diagrams and maps plus travel and trip suggestions to help the reader visit each location.
