J. D. Buchanan

Grew up in Birmingham, Michigan. Terrible student. Received a degree from Michigan State University in something I never studied and was glad to get it. Attended four more colleges and was a terrible student in all of them. First jobs... jazz musician on a big band, piano and vibes, gofer in a brokerage office, stagehand at a Detroit TV station, disc jockey for a couple of hours, TV director in Youngstown, Ohio. New York, supervisor in the film department at CBS. A year in Europe where I still visit frequently, particularly Ireland, tour guide in a movie studio, casting assistant. Published my first short story. School teacher, civil rights activist, and a writer and producer in Hollywood for television and film. Published nine novels, mostly abroad.
