Ann Hall Marshall is 89 years old. She says, “I really can’t describe how exciting it is to see my story published – makes me feel I’m 70 again.” She didn't write her first novel years ago because, “… I didn't have time. My husband Bob and I led busy lives. We raised ten energetic children, we both earned graduate degrees, we built a six-bedroom house (lots of sweat equity there). He taught Latin at Mount St. Mary's University for 36 years; I was an adjunct teacher at the University of Maryland for five years; then I ran the Adult Education program for Frederick County, Maryland. I learned to use a computer instead of a typewriter. I wrote press releases for my job, manuals for the Maryland State Department of Education. With all that, I didn't get around to my first novel until a few years ago. Crooked Lines was always on the back burner, simmering."
