Christian Borch

Christian Borch is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen. His research explores financial markets, machine learning, crowd theory, criminology, social theory, and urban theory. His most recent books are Social Avalanche: Crowds, Cities and Financial Markets (Cambridge University Press, 2020), The Oxford Handbook of the Sociology of Machine Learning (ed. with Juan Pablo Pardo-Guerra, Oxford University Press, 2025), and Trading Beyond Understanding: Machine Learning, Risk, and Markets (Stanford University Press, 2026).
