Larry Scanlan

Larry Scanlan, CPA, FHFMA, has had a business career spanning nearly half a century, most of it spent serving as chief executive officer or president of several hospitals as well as leading several consulting firms who enjoyed national practice profiles.

He has written over a dozen articles on leadership, with two being recognized as “article of the year” by the Hospital Financial Management Association (HFMA). In 2010 he authored the book, Hospital Mergers—Why They Work, Why They Don’t, published by Health Forum, an American Hospital Association Company. Most recently he had a devotional published in the Upper Room in June 2018. Through his career he has spoken at various local, regional and national seminars and conferences.

In addition, Larry currently serves on the board of directors for a college in Pennsylvania and for a healthcare system in Maryland. He has also served in the role as board chairman for both of these organizations and as a deacon and trustee at various churches. He and his wife live in Harford County, Maryland.
