Marty Layne

Before writing my book about learning at home, I was a La Leche League Leader for many years, helping mothers breastfeed their babies. After publishing Learning At Home: A Mother's Guide To Homeschooling,1998, and as my children reached their late teen and early twenties, I became an infant massage instructor and taught new parents how to massage their babies.

I spoke at homeschooling/unschooling conferences and led workshops locally and in various parts of North America. It was wonderful to hear from people that what I had written helped them in their homeschooling journey. The first edition sold out. I published a Revised Edition in 2001 and a Newly Revised Edition in 2007.

Since 2014, I've been making needle felted art which I used as a fundraiser for my local food bank. With the assistance of the photography skills of my son, Noah Layne, noahlayne.com, I published a children's picture book, The Happy Snow Friends Counting Book, that continues my tradition of fundraising for food banks.
