About the Author
Angels We Have Heard is the author's first book, but writing is not new to him. Throughout his ministry, he has written newspaper/magazine columns and weekly sermons. Pastor Paris, as he likes to be called, began writing a weekly column, The Shepherd's Call, 33 years ago to extend his ministry. Today, the syndicated column appears in several publications with a circulation approaching 30,000 each week.
The response to The Shepherd's Call has always been rewarding. Through the years, readers have requested the column be offered in a bound volume. This book is a response to those many requests. Printing all of the columns is obviously not feasible. Instead, Angels We Have Heard contains a selection of The Shepherd's Call columns organized around both the Christian and secular calendars.
Wade Paris served as a pastor and missionary for more than 50 years. He became a pastor at the age of 20, while a student at Union University, Jackson, Tennessee. His pastoral service continued in seminary in North Carolina, then in Tennessee and Missouri. The last nine years of his ministry, he served as an area missionary in North Missouri ministering to 42 churches and two missions scattered across five large counties.
Pastor Paris is a husband of 54 years, the father of four children and grandfather to nine grandchildren. In retirement, he and his wife, Nellie Frances, moved to Harrisonville, Missouri just south of Kansas City, where they are centrally located to all the children.
